The easiest way to describe most of our classes is, they are fundamentally circuit style sessions to strengthen, optimise and improve the function and health of your body.
We program the sessions to have a practical use in your everyday life and/or sport and get your body working at its best.
We put together varieties of exercises to improve your strength, mobility, stability, endurance, body composition (fat & muscle) speed & coordination and happiness.
We design the classes to make the best use of your bodies ability to respond and adapt to exercise in order to improve your health + fitness.
Using various equipment, the studio kit and our local + natural environment with experienced exercise training coaches, we aim to improve safely and effectively the abilities and health of your body.
Classes can take place outside on our large private green, in our studio or around the park.
Most classes are outside if the weather is good. In adverse weather, we train inside our fresh aired and well lit studio.
Specific class sessions are designed for inside or outside.
Sessions can be tailored for specific needs, individuals, groups and sports teams. Please get in touch with us if you need a specific level of support and/ or guidance.
QUICKLY, WHAT FITNESS IS;
Fitness can be defined as the body's ability to be capable of handling challenges and to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities.
Fitness can be measured in terms of:-
- your body composition,
- cardiovascular fitness,
- muscular endurance,
- power and speed
plus other aspects such as stamina, accuracy, reaction time, health nutrition and wellness.
It is quite a lot to consider, which is why Riptide and our experienced instruction and coaching is here for you.
All these aspects vary for everyone. That is what is unique about you and attention will be made to support your needs in the whichever session you take part in.
WHAT RIPTIDE are CLASSES ABOUT:
Riptide's classes are designed to be fun, effective, efficient, safe and appropriately challenging, in order to stimulate a positive response from your body to enhance your fitness and health.
All classes are aimed at improving your fitness, keeping you healthy and allowing you to perform better in life.
All of Riptide's classes will promote your fitness by your consistent participation in physical activity.
We recognise that everyone and every body is different and brings their own needs, wants, goals and abilities to the sessions. We do our very best to accommodate these into the classes.
Keep in mind that any lifestyle change is a "work in progress" and lasting changes take time.
Set small goals that are easy to add to your daily life and that YOU can take charge of.
The variety of classes:
So you can begin with Riptide and progress safely and effectively at the best speed for you, the classes are programmed with different aspects in mind;-
- your current level of fitness and readiness for exercise and the experience you have of classes,
- amount of exercises in the class,
- the intensity of the class,
- the technical or specific demands details you wish to challenge from your fitness ability.
This is important to us because we believe that it really matters that you train and become familiar with the movement, safe form and posture needed to carry out the exercises and using equipment correctly and getting to know yourself in an exercise environment.
Whichever class or session you participate in, you can exercise at the level and effort that suits you on the day. We understand that you can figure out what works for you.
